Born in Switzerland, Alina Jaggi graduated with her dance education majoring in Contemporary and Ballet at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Frankfurt/Main. She worked as a dancer in Theater und Orchester Heidelberg and Saarländische Staatstheater Saarbrücken. As a freelancer she danced in multiple projects throughout Switzerland, Germany, and Austria - where she discovered her interest in choreography. After successfully finishing her Masters of Arts in ‘Movement Research’ at the Anton Bruckner Privatuniversität in Linz, Austria - Alina then danced at the Gerhart-Hauptmann-Theater Görlitz/Zittau from 2014 - 2018. She then studied Veranstaltungskauffrau / Event Management in Braunschweig, Germany and has worked at LOT-Theater Braunschweig e.V. in Project Administration.
Alina teaches JAMFYA® - a dance fitness course based on original Jamaican Dancehall steps - in Fitness studios.
Together with her partner Joshua Haines she founded in 2023 u.p. - unknown.possibilities.
u.p. is a performance based dance company where Alina and Joshua choreograph pieces together.
Alina loves the challenge of treading unknown territory and having new experiences. She loves the small things in life like walks through the forest, having thought provoking discussions, and ping pong.
